Walgreens and Express Scripts are Back Together

Earlier this year, Walgreens and Express Scripts had a dispute that resulted in a separation between the two companies. This left thousands of people scrambling to find another pharmacy because Walgreens wasn’t in their network anymore. How will the renewal of the relationship between these two companies affect you, and your health insurance coverage? Express Scripts is one of the biggest pharmacy benefit managers in the United States. Health insurance companies hire Express Scripts to negotiate prices for medications, and to oversee prescription drug programs. Walgreens, of course, is a popular pharmacy where plenty of people go to get their … Continue reading

Working From Home Works For Retirees

Working from home is an attractive option for people at many different stages in their lives. Today, I am going to look at some of the ways that retirees can benefit from home – based work after they leave the world of traditional work behind. Whether you are currently retired or are thinking of retiring, working from home may be something that works for you. Retirement today is not what it used to be. In the current economy, even those people who have worked hard all of their lives to save money towards retirement are finding that they do not … Continue reading

The Couple that Does Chores Together, Stays Together

On a recent episode of the sitcom “Raising Hope,” the married couple in the show clash over the division of their chores. They each make the other person do the chore they hate most, but by the end of the episode they’ve started doing those tasks together. They find that the jobs they hate most aren’t really so bad when they do them together. It struck me just how true to life that is (which is a rare thing to find on television). If I really don’t want to do something around the house, I’ve found it’s a lot easier … Continue reading

Working Through Situations With Your Intense Child

If you are not a temperamentally intense person, it can be difficult to understand a temperamentally intense child. I am definitely not what you would call an intense person, I’m pretty easygoing and generally go with the flow. Dylan, on the other hand, is very intense. He reacts to things, both positive and negative, in a very strong way. It is never difficult to know what he thinks about something. Children with intense temperaments bring a depth of experience into our worlds that we have not previously known, if we are not intense ourselves. When they laugh, it comes from … Continue reading

Have You Considered Working The Night Shift?

One of the ways that some home – based professional parents manage to stay at home during the day with their children is working at night. This strategy can also be used by parents who work outside of the home as well. To those who are not in the know, the options for work during the “graveyard shift” may seem to be limited to twenty four hour stores, freelance writing, or working as a nurse or a security guard. There are many more things that get done during the night, though, and expanding your knowledge of what those things are … Continue reading

Working Together as Husband and Wife

Do you and your spouse work at the same place? This can be a lot of fun, or it can cause complications at work and at home. Let’s take a look at both sides of the equation. On the plus side, working at the same location gives the husband and wife the chance to spend more time together during the day. Even if they don’t work in the same department, chances are their paths will cross frequently throughout their shift, and they can eat lunch together and take breaks together. Working in the same facility also gives them something in … Continue reading

Working On The Weekends

Sometimes, home-based professionals who do all or some of their work during the weekend may find themselves wondering how many other people do the same. According to a study that was done in 2010, approximately thirty five percent of all people who are employed, whether they work from home or outside of the home, work at least some weekend hours. The amount of time that people spent working on weekend days was less than that spent during the week. According to that same study, people worked an average of 7.9 hours per week day that they worked, but only worked … Continue reading
