I’m going to begin a series of blogs taken from a small group study course our church is promoting. The title of this course is called “Values That Last” and was presented to those who wished to participate, as a “small-group-in-a-bag”. Marriage is just a piece of paper. Marriage is a contract. A binding contract. Imagine if you wanted to buy a house or a car or any other major purchase. You need to sign a contract. At adoption conferences and web forums, one hears a lot from adopted persons and from parents wondering how to raise their newly-adopted children. What does faith mean to you? I’ve defined faith as being able to put my trust in God believing He knows better than me. The Bible defines faith for us: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11:1) By faith we know there is wind, not because we see the wind, but we see, feel or hear the effects from it.
