Seeking Inspiration for Christian Blogging

While driving home last night I asked the Lord to lay on my heart some topics to write about. As I settled in my home for the night I started getting a flood of ideas. The initial passion I had to share about the Lord came back to me. I get inspiration by: • Going to church • Looking at God’s creations • Past experiences • Books • Topics of debate • Specific scriptures • Current events • Needs of other people • Things I’d like to know more about • Studying the Word • Devotional time • My children … Continue reading

Welcome To My New Co-Blogger

Beginning February 1, 2007 there was a new addition to our Christian Blogging family here at Families.com. I am very excited to work along side of Amy who, like me, has love and a passion for Christ, and a desire to share of His goodness with others. Amy has taken the opportunity to introduce herself in her first blog so I won’t go into that here but I encourage you to read it (link provided at the bottom of this page). Where Was That Scripture?

One of the most frustrating things for me is when I’m trying to recall a certain scripture from the Bible but I can’t for the life of me find where it is! I thought this is what concordances supposed to be for, but if the Bible doesn’t actually use the specific word for the subject, then the concordance isn’t much help. Finally, there’s some hope. In this book … Continue reading

The Prayer of Jabez: Intro

I’ve decided to start a blog series on one of the most life changing prayers. Some of you might remember right after the new millennium, many churches were heavily promoting Bruce Wilkinson’s book titled, The Prayer of Jabez. Just as with Rick Warren’s book The Purpose Driven Life, Bible studies were popping up throughout churches as the hunger for God’s blessing was cried out to Him. The short acknowledgement in the book of 1 Chronicles chapter 4: 9-10, has left a lasting impact on people’s lives changing the way many pray. Jabez’ life must have been special as the writer … Continue reading

Thank You Families.com

As Thanksgiving is approaching, I’ve been reflecting on all the things that I’m thankful for. Since Families.com has given me the opportunity to blog for them, I’ve begun experiencing so much blessing and growth in my spiritual life. Thank you Families.com for giving me a space here to share my heart and love for others through my blogs. I am a stay-at-home-mom. Being my husband was the only one employed; it meant there wasn’t as much play money as there used to be. When Lisa offered me a blogging position, it meant not only getting a few extra dollars for … Continue reading
