Only a Prayer Awayby Dale Harcombe | More from this Blogger 24 Apr 2009 09:16 PM
I particularly like this song because it talks about thanking the Lord for everything and counting your blessing each day. As you all know, I'm being on giving thanks to God and counting our blessings. And it's such an easy thing to do. Once you start thinking about it, you'll end up finding more and more things to thank God for. Here are some of mine for today: Watching the sunrise over Jervis Bay this morning at the Anzac Day service My husband's love and support as we shared that service together That we live in a country that is free For those who gave their lives in war to keep us freeThat my husband has never had to go to war. God's provision of the gift of music and the joy of singing A walk after the dawn service where we encountered a number of kangaroos Being able to walk and see the great things God has created The beauty of the place where we live That God restrained the lightning that threatened to disrupt the service and kept it fine for the Anzac parade and outdoor service Special friends and laughter Positive feedback from a visitor to the Anzac service and to our area who commented how great the choir sounded. Being welcomed home by our little dog Washing dried by the sun while we were out A passionfruit vine Mick planted bearing prolific fruit And some obvious ones from that song and my own experience: That God hears and answers prayer That God encourages and comforts us when we need it. The wealth we have all around us in the beauty of God's creation He comes to us when we need Him He is only a prayer away.
