I want to start a new series entitled "Devotions of . . ." over different topics in the Bible, different Biblical concepts, and different struggles we all deal with in our lives. In this series I want to share with you some key passages in the Bible dealing with the topic at hand. I also plan to share my thoughts on the topic. I will also give you tips on how to do further study on the topic by sharing such things as other relevant words you might look up in a concordance which relate to the topic.

While you may certainly just read the blog for what it is, a blog, I encourage you to take the topic a step further. Use the blog topic as the topic for your own personal Bible study. Use the blog theme as the topic for a devotional with your husband, or your children. Use the blog theme as the topic for a devotional with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Use the blog theme as the topic for your friends and neighbors who have not yet obeyed the gospel.

I would like to suggest a few tools for any study you do based on a theme from this series. First, you will need your Bible. Second, it might be helpful to have a concordance so that you can study the topic more in-depth. Third, you need your mind. I hope that if you do use these themes as a topic for any type of Bible study or devotion that you think seriously about the topic.

I hope to continue this series for as long as I can continue to develop topics for it, and I would love to hear your suggestions for topic ideas.

Here are the first few topics I have already decided to write about:

  • Devotions of Love
  • Devotions of Peace
  • Devotions of Patience
  • Devotions of Purity
  • Devotions of Knowledge
  • Devotions of Maturity
