Dreams and Desires Fulfilledby Dale Harcombe | More from this Blogger 20 Sep 2008 08:53 PM My talk on Saturday started off with my childhood dreams. At varying times in my life I wanted to be a wife and mother, a writer, a singer, a teacher and a missionary. Now anyone who knows me knows I'd be the world's worst in a missionary situation. I am literally terrified of anything that creeps or crawls and much prefer my own home than being away. Over the years those childhood dreams had been pushed aside. I'd forgotten about them mostly. But God hadn't. When I look back at those desires I had as a child of being a wife and mother, singing, writing, teaching, missionary, every one of them has been fulfilled by the Lord God and brought to fruition in my life in one way or another. It may not be success in the world's eyes but it's all been God planned, God initiated and God directed. And as God always does he gave me something more than I asked for or expected. A desire I didn't even now was there until after we moved to Orange. I was surprised after we moved there, just how much I missed the water. Maybe that's what living in Sydney- a city on the harbour does to you. It's in your psyche. So began a dream of one day living near the water, though we couldn't see how we would ever afford it. God overruled. August last year that's exactly what happened. God brought us down to this amazing place where the water is at the bottom of our street and myriad beautiful beaches are close by. Best of all we are here part of bible believing church, which is such a blessing Time and time again God brings me back to the verses from Psalm 139 about how He knows all about us and has a plan for each of us.
