Ask Your Husband

by Melissa J | More from this Blogger

I understand not everyone who reads this has a husband. So, for the purpose of what I have to share, feel free to insert whoever you feel is a voice of reason in your life. And yes, for those of you ladies who do not feel your husband is a reasonable voice, feel free to consider someone else's name to insert where you see the word "husband". I intend to share from my own thoughts here so please humor me.

God sure is creative! Generally speaking men and women are so different. Though I don't believe I'm as complicated as some women, I would agree that even I have a hard time figuring myself out sometimes. I can analyze just about anything, if I allow myself, and can turn a simple situation into complicated one (no pride intended). My husband on the other hand... I wonder sometimes if he takes time to analyze many of the things I might at all. He is generally easy going and able to provide simple answers to what appears at times to be complex questions.

God sure knew what He was doing pairing man and woman up. I have found that my husband and I compliment each other well. He tends to look at the big picture; I tend to focus on details. God has given me my husband as my voice of reason. When I am too wrapped up in details to come to any conclusive answer to something, I find seeking input from my level headed man usually provides the best perspective and gets me back on track.

My husband isn't just helpful in reeling me back to simplicity; I can also trust him to provide honest feedback with little emotion and virtually no ulterior motives when questions such as, "Do these pants make me look fat?" are asked.

I am thankful for truth in love that I receive from my husband. There were nothing in our vows that stated he'd have to comfort me in times of sadness, tread on eggshells around day twenty-one (not really; wink-wink), or help me to look my best. God bless him though, he's there anyway.
